>>Getting to Net Zero Workshop

Portland. May 3, 2008

You are invited to attend this day-long event which tells the story of four Portland homes reaching for Net Zero Energy use. Explore the technologies and design features, firsthand, that make Zero Energy buildings possible. Christopher Dymond, Energy Analyst for the Oregon Department of Energy, will begin the day with a workshop on the philosophy behind Net Zero Energy use and High Performance Homes, how to get there, and the financial incentives available in Oregon. The tour that follows showcases retrofits, additions and new homes displaying various levels of performance and technologies, from highly efficient homes generating most of their power onsite, to those going for Net Zero. We provide side by side comparisons of the building envelope, appliance and equipment choices for each home as well as an energy analysis giving you plenty of technical information to guide your own Net Zero goals. The depth of this information will serve the needs of professionals in the field as well as homeowners seeking the next level of education.
To ensure a quality experience for everyone, space is limited to only 100 participants; we recommend purchasing tickets early. Ticket includes workshop, lunch and bus shuttles to all four sites. AIA continuing education credits are available. CEU’s for other professionals can be arranged. Contact Solar Oregon for details.
